Cactus juice fills a critical need. I make Kaleidoscopes from found wood, usually green (wet), sometimes punky to crappy. I have been using another brand that took forever to soak in with no way to speed it up. Cactus juice speeds the process up so much that my profit margin is increased and the worry factor is reduced. The next steps are dying the punky stuff and using the casting resin.

I am new to stabilizing wood and greatly appreciate all of the great free info. I've run about five batches so far and everything is going well. I'm in no hurry so I can allow plenty of time for drying the wood, letting it soak and letting it cure. So far I've just used native woods; walnut, oak, wild plum, osage orange and hickory. It appears that the stabilization has an added benefit in that the wood does not seem to load a grinding belt as bad as unstabilized wood.

Curtis has been providing outstanding customer service since I started buying his products 4+ years ago. From noticing a change to the shipping charges and issuing me a credit for the difference, on my first order, to spending more than an hour helping me troubleshoot issues with an unusual (to me) application of Cactus Juice on my most recent order, and on every order in between, the customer service that Curtis and team strive for (and deliver!) is the highest standard across all the retailers I've purchased from.

Got my order fast as usual. You guys do a great job! When I opened my order, I found 1 of my dye bottles Had leaked a small amount. No big deal. Thankful they had lots of paper packing around everything to soak it up. Upon Inspection, I found the foil seal under the cap had failed. I seriously doubt they had anything to do with it. Just one of Those things that happen.

My Comments:  Scott, I am sorry the leak happened.  As you guessed, we do not package the Alumilite dyes but we do try to check each bottle.  I have created and sent you a Merchandise Certificate to use on your next order to compensate you for the leaking bottle!

This was my first order.  The stabilizing lid was well constructed and works as designed.  All positive for my first order.  If I would suggest to have a wider one built with a clear lid so I can use my pressure pot for larger items.  Other than that I have nothing negative.

Great small company to do business. Very fast shipping and customer service that is what every business should strive have. Will do a lot more bushiness in the future. 

The new OvenTamer controllers are well worth the money. When set to 200 degrees, my cheapy toaster oven would range from 180 to 260 degrees. This wasn't ideal for cactus juice, pre-heating molds, or final cure of Alumilite. I've only used the tamer a few times, but after the auto-tune, the temps climb to the setting and are stable within a couple of degrees, and often within a few tenths of degrees. This reduced the bleed-out of cactus juice so more would cure in the wood rather than pool on my catch tray. I can pre-heat Alumilite molds, and when the pressure pot is done, I pop the molds into the oven at ~140 degrees for a while to ensure that the cure is complete. This is necessary for me to ensure a complete cure for tube-in castings.

Curtis was very helpful when I described my issues before I purchased the tamer, and I have always been very happy doing business with Turntex.

I have ordered twice from Turntex, both times my orders were exact and arrived fast. The service doesn't stop there, the help center is full of helpful information. I will continue to buy from them.

I only purchased the Cactus Juice and some dyes. The products were delivered quickly, which I always appreciate. I have only tried the clear Cactus Juice on a single test run. Everything worked exactly as expected - probably because I read and followed the clearly written instructions. I will definitely be coming back to buy more, every time needed.

Received my new 36" vacuum chamber and cannot wait to get it installed and sucking air. The professional quality of the product is not matched by any other chamber either hand or manufactured. I think he even removed any fingerprints, looks so good I almost don't want to get it dirty. (:  The shipping was above what was needed and everything arrived in perfect order. You might have to wait a while, but the chambers are of such HIGH quality, I will not have to worry about any defects or a warranty.

My first experience with TurnTex was great!  I only ordered some dye.  It arrived quickly and was well packed.  My greatest compliment is what I have learned from Curtis on IAP and watching his videos.  I just started casting Alumilite.  Curtis' videos and post on IAP made me comfortable enough to do a 3 color poor with Alumilite, and it was a success.  Thanks Curtis for the great service and the great educational videos.

I recently purchased a vacuum chamber to treat wood blanks for knife handles. My first purchase was from another manufacturer that told me the Cactus Juice was the reason the top cracked during the first use. While looking for a solution I ran across the Cactus Juice web site opened the chat line. The owner replied to my chat and then asked me to talk on the phone. He reviewed the photo and told me of all the testing he has done on poly carbonate. He spent 30 minutes explaining the process of wood hardening and truly understands customer care. I bought a vacuum chamber from TurnTex and have completed two batches of knife blanks. Effortless and they came out beautiful. If you are buying a vacuum chamber to treat wood, TurnTex is the only choice.

I have worked with Curtis, owner of TurnTex Woodworks over the past several years. Our knife shop buys supplies and a chamber from him. When it came time to service the chamber because of its heavy use Curtis was quick to respond and support us with the o-ring we needed. When we needed advice on the right vacuum pump he pointed us in the right direction. He stands behind his products 100% and is knowledgeable and a good resource of information. We use his products quite a bit for wood we salvage locally for making knife scales and his products work great if you carefully follow his instructions. Best of all his cactus juice resin is not Highly toxic.

This stuff works great for stabilizing wood and the shipping is lightening fast.

I couldn't be happier with my order from Curtis.  Even though it was very small he treated me the same as if I ordered a truck load.  I'm just dipping my toes into stabilization and casting, but so far it is awesome!! You just have made a customer for life!!

I have been making knives for a long time and for stabilized wood I had one of two choices pay anywhere from $25 to $40 dollars a block or pay another company $16 dollars a pound after stabilizing to have it done. After researching this product and hearing good things I thought I would give it a try. The only problem I have had is wishing I had purchased it a long time ago. I have stabilized several types of wood with outstanding results. just with the first few things I've stabilized it paid for itself. As far as Turntex their customer service is second to none. When you place an order it ships fast and if you have any problem Curtis does whatever is necessary to make it rite and is quick to any questions you have. I couldn't ask for better service. Thank you Curtis for a great product and wonderful service. I wouldn't want to do business with anyone else.

I read about Cactus juice on Facebook and watched videos of it on youtube. I have a friend who makes knives and while steel is not my medium, I am great with wood. I learned about this product and the procedures for stabilizing wood and using Alumilite resin to fill in voids. Love this product easy to use, easy to clean up, works as advertised per the instruction. This has enabled me to make some lovely pieces of colored wood, anything I can imagine in fact.

Got my Cactus Juice between Christmas and New Years. Messaged Curtis with a question and he replied from his deer blind. If that's not quality service I don't know what is.

I have recently ordered Cactus Juice and the parts to build my own vacuum chamber. Turntex sent my order in a very short amount of time and I received everything in good shape. I highly recommend them, now I just have to get busy.

I decided to take the plunge and purchase a Stabilizing Chamber so I could learn how to create custom blanks for my customers. After watching the video on TurnTex Woodworks website I was sold, I've been looking a other systems but nothing looked as good as the one Curtis has built. I received the unit and couldn't wait to try it out, I read the instruction booklet that came with the chamber and followed every step and it worked perfectly. I am very pleased with the Stabilizing Chamber it is nothing short of the very best quality construction, when Curtis says he takes pride in the quality of his products he means every word.
