Fast service, love dealing with this company

After waiting almost 3 months and never getting any product I gave up and cancelled the order.

My Comments:  This gentleman placed his order on 8/25/17 with a stated estimated lead time on my site of 4-6 weeks.  He was notified on 10/2/17 (38 days from purchase) that his order was ready to complete and finalize and could take a few weeks to finalize and ship.  He e-mailed me on the morning of 10/18/17 (54 days after order) asking about when his order would ship.  I read his message late that afternoon and was beginning to reply when another nasty e-mail came in from him cancelling the order without ever letting me reply.  His chamber was made and ready to ship but was in the que to ship.  Total time from the date of the order to the day he cancelled was 7 weeks which was just 1 week over the estimate, not 3 months as he claims in this review.  My policy is to post all reviews, good or bad so I did not want to not publish this but did want my side of the story told since his information is inaccurate.

My order shipped within an hour of when it was submitted.  Everything arrived on time and in good shape.  This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who's familiar with TurnTex.  Curtis responded to an email question (Yes, Tightbond glues can be used with wood stabilized with Cactus Juice) within 15 minutes of my emailing him the question -- late on a Monday evening.  He cannot respond so quickly to every question, but it's clear that promptly addressing concerns and questions is a high priority for him. Why would order fulfillment be any different?

Products and customer service was top notch as always. I have gotten everything I've ordered on time and when I had questions I got my answers the same day. No complaints at all.

Can't say enough about the service.  

This is the only solution I will use or recommend for using on products that I want protected from the elements for years to come. I intend to use it on every wood containing knife handle that I put on my knives and also have in the past. Super good product, follow directions and you will love the results. If you ahve a question, don't mind answering, also excellent customer service!

All I can say is TurnTex Woodworks and staff are a class act......everything you order is shipped as soon as possible and packed well. When you receive your package everything is there and accounted for.... If you have any questions, Curtis and his people are more than glad to talk to you about their product....The "how to" directions and tutorials on the website are outstanding...the quality of the product is second to none.... Can't say enough about these folks...

I am using the Cactus Juice on soft or spalted woods that would otherwise be unusable. I also use it on "good" woods as an added level of protection and stability. It is a great product and is easy to use. In addition the service has been great. It is nice to work with someone who takes pride in their product.

The product and time of delivery is very good.  Put the Temp Tamer II to work right away, so far so good.  Great fit and finish too as far as the buildmanship.

Received the OVEN TAMER II on Monday last, well packaged and perfect shape! I immediately began "playing" with it. Very easy to operate (if you read the instructions!) and easy to make adjustments.

The only thing I couldn't do was change "F-C". I went through the sequence for the change several times, but the "F" never started flashing?? No big deal as I always use "F", and have a lot of ways to convert if someone just has to have the info in "C"!

Everything else functions perfectly!

Curtis great service and fast shipping. I live in he interior of Alaska and so many companies won't ship here or charge you some absorbent shipping price. There are no vendors in Alaska for your product and I have started the Interior Alaska Wood Workers Association and have done one class so far on stabilizing wood with your product. I am very pleased with the Cactus Juice. The Customer Service is impeccable and it shipped out the day after I ordered. I was able to get started stabilizing wood immediately.  I am already making my own blanks for my product line. Can't wait til next week when I am going to try and do a blank for a bowl combining wood and acrylic. I read all about how to use product, from drying the wood, to vacuum, to baking in toaster oven, etc. What I didn't read was the amount each piece could hold. I ordered 1/2 gallon. I have some spalted buckeye that I want to turn on wood lathe. The pieces are 2" thick by 8" diameter. I used the entire 1/2 gallon less about 1/2 cup to impregnate 3 pieces. The product worked as described. It's too expensive for me to buy again as I have to pass the cost on to the customer. I guess I'll stay away from punky wood from now on.

This was the first time stabilizing anything. I followed the directions and the scales turned out great. 

This recent order of Cactus Juice was my third. I have always been impressed with the service Curtis provides. He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to stabilizing and also casting with Alumilite. In my one telephone conversation he was friendly, professional and very helpful. I found out about TurnTex from various forums on the internet. I was looking for Alumalite and was not ready to polunge too much into the first order when I found TurnTex. Their prices are as good as any but their service is much better. Whiel I am lucky enough to live in Texas several hours north of TurnTex I placed an order on a Thrusday and had it the next day without any special shipping or expediting charges. He gets the product out within hours of the order from my experience.

I also wanted to see about stabilization and start using some punky wood I seem to be able to get through various sources. Curtis explained to me how I could get into the hobby and then move forward. He explained how to do stabilization and I didn't realize some of the steps I would have missed. Based on the information I received I felt confident in moving forward with a system and have just started to sdtabilize my first batch.

You can't go wrong with the service, price and knowledge when you deal with Curtis and TurnTex.

finally got around to using my new oven tamer. Had some issues getting it to stabilize. A quick call to Curtis and a minor adjustment on where I placed the coupler and it working great. Temp stays within 1 or 2 degrees of set. Love it.

Great products and customer service

Just wanted to put a shout out here for Curtis. recently had my entire chamber go off while under Vacuum. I contacted Curtis and told him about it, found out from him that under the right circumstances cactus juice can harden at temps around 95*.  Curtis made me a new chamber and sent it to me at a reduced charge even though the chamber was not his. 

THANKS CURTIS, YOU ARE A STAND UP GUY AND WILL GET MY BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE.

 

I ordered some cactus juice and another item.  Considering that Hurricane Harvey was going on when I ordered, the shipping and delivery were exceptional.

I will continue to purchase my CJ and Alumilite  TurnTex.

I heard about Cactus juice from a woodworker who turns spalted wood.  When I saw the information Turntex had on their site, I knew that was where I would purchase it from!  He has great information and videos on how to use the products he sells and keeps safety in mind.  I didn't have to go searching for more information because it was all right there.

Received my chamber last week. My cactus juice should arrive today.  Both were delayed by the hurricane.  Can't wait to stabilize some blanks. Tested chamber and the vacuum gage goes past 30.

I am making a tea ceremony tools. I learned about Cactus juice from YouTube video. I am looking forward to challenge the blending of new materials and traditional style. I was worried whether the cactus juice would arrive correctly,I thank Curtis for giving me the chance to challenge a new attempt.

The shipment of dyes arrived without a hitch at the border depot location. Looking forward to using the service again for future shipments. I had some Spalted Pin Oak that had got decayed to the point it was like a dry sponge, really past turning on a lathe. Years ago I soaked some of it in all kinds of things, let it dry, turn a little and repeated many times until I finely finished a bowl. To me a Pain in the...... but the rotted wood was unreal when turned and finished. I did several bowls this way and finely gave it up because it took so long to finish one. I had 3 large chunks left and I had wanted to try this stuff for a long time. 10 years later I did. Followed the directions and everything they say is true. Excellent results. It's very powdery when turning, dust collection is a must, but I can turn the whole thing at one time and the finish on the bowl for lack of the correct term just plain looks better. It has a surface that I couldn't get with the other ways I tried. I don't have a lot of money but I will be using more of this stuff because it makes turning half rotted wood easy and the bowls I've made with spalted/rotted wood get the most looks.

 I am a knifemaker and a maker of all the tools and contraptions to make them with.I make micarta and have wanted to get cactus juice for a long time,and recently ordered some.The juice is great I can't wait to get more ,I have so many ideas,not to mention piles of punky spalted wood!I only could afford a pint this time,so I wasn't a bulk buyer,but I feel like I got top notch service. I read through the Q&A a few times and googled a few things while I was rigging up my pump and chamber and I find the info thats on the site and all over the web is great,you personally answering questions.Alot of places will sell you something and then you're on your own.I will be a customer of yours.

I have been using Cactus Juice for about 2 years and i am my 3rd gallon. I use it Stabilize Alaska spalted birch and other spalted woods. This stuff works great and recommend it to other knife makers. the one hint i will give  is make sure the wood is dry like the Turntex says it does make a difference. One other thing that that is great is there shipping, living in Alaska that is huge and the fact the product is awesome it makes this a slam dunk

i am a first time wood stabilizer the website proveded perfect directions on how to do it.  As a knife maker I have worked with stabilized wood for many years but until know have never made my own.  Now I have my own supply of stabilized wood and its great.  Anyway the product works great it add a lot of fun to my knife making hobby.  I will definitely buy more.
